Filament Tape

Filament Tape, also called mono-directional filament tape or strapping tape, is a pressure-sensitive tape built from a transparent BOPP or PET film backing embedded with continuous glass yarn (fiberglass) filaments running lengthwise, then coated with a synthetic rubber, hot-melt, or acrylic adhesive. The embedded filaments give the tape exceptional one-way tensile strength (often 150–660 N/25 mm) while keeping it thin, flexible, and hand-tearable across the width — making it the standard solution for heavy bundling, carton reinforcement, and L-clip closure where ordinary packing tape would snap.

Features:

Extreme MD Tensile Strength: Glass yarn reinforcement delivers 150–660 N/25 mm (≈ 85–380 lb/in) tensile strength along the length; resists snapping under heavy load.
Low Elongation: Breaks at 3%–5% stretch — holds tight without creeping, ideal for strapping and unitizing.
Abrasion & Moisture Resistant: BOPP/PET backing shields filaments from scuffing, humidity, and light solvent contact.
Aggressive Adhesion: Synthetic rubber/hot-melt bonds to corrugated, recycled board, plastic, and bare metal; acrylic grade for low-temperature and aging resistance.
Transparent Backing: Lets barcodes, shipping labels, and printed carton graphics stay visible underneath.
Hand-Tearable Across Width: Cuts cleanly perpendicular to filaments with a dispenser or scissors; no fraying along the length.
Tamper-Evident Option: High-strength hold makes unauthorized opening obvious on sealed cartons.
